Daddy's song

This is the song my dad wrote back in 1989.  It was his testimony.  Dad said that the words were playing over and over in his head as he was closing the meat market that night.  He said he remember sitting down writing it but didn't have a clue what he had written until the following morning when he woke up and read what he had written down.  He told us many times how surprised he was at what he found.  But it touched him and so loved to share it with anyone who would listen. Sometimes he would share it weather you wanted it or not. This song has touched a number of lives over the years. I hope it touches yours as well.

RED ROVER RED ROVER
BY: RONNIE HOWARD
WRITTEN IN: 1989

RED ROVER RED ROVER SEND MY JESUS OVER
RED ROVER RED ROVER I NEED HIM TODAY

I’VE SPENT A LIFE TIME JUST WORRYING ABOUT WHATS MINE I NEVER LET ANYONE GET IN MY WAY

I HAD THE NAME GLORY AND FAME, SO WHY DO I FEEL SUCH SORROW AND PAIN

RED ROVER RED ROVER SEND MY JESUS OVER
RED ROVER RED ROVER I NEED HIM TODAY

THE DEVIL IS SORROW MY SOUL HE DID BORROW WITH HELL FIRE AND BRIMSTONE HE PLANNED TO REPAY

BUT NOW I FOUND JESUS WHAT A GLORIOUS DAY

RED ROVER RED ROVER SEND MY JESUS OVER
RED ROVER RED ROVER I NEED HIM TODAY

WHEN YOU’RE HEART GETS HARDEN AND YOU THINK THERE’S NO PARDON JUST ASK FOR JESUS HE’S A WHISPER AWAY

RED ROVER RED ROVER SEND MY JESUS OVER
RED ROVER RED ROVER I NEED HIM TODAY

AS JESUS AS SAVIOR I CAN’T BE A FAILURE HIS BLOOD HAS WASHED MY SINS AWAY

RED ROVER RED ROVER SEND MY JESUS OVER
RED ROVER RED ROVER I NEED HIM TODAY

WHAT A GLORIOUS DAY

In loving memory of my daddy.

Aww...love Daddy's song. What part of Kentucky was he from? I have family in Louisville. Have been there a few times but not lately. We stayed at Lake Cumberland back in 1998 for a family reunion and that was a nice time there...hope you are doing well!

My dad and his twin were born in Corbin, Kentucky. Most of the Howard family lives in London, Kentucky. It is a beautiful state.
