Sports Sports Sports

I'm a mom with a son that is in one sport after another. Football, Basketball, Baseball, Track. When my son was younger he even played soccer! Right now it is baskeball season and there have been to many games to count. Blake (that is my baby boy.... well he's not much of a baby anymore) is a freshman at Fort Worth Christian and is currently playing for both the freshman basketball team as well as the JV basketball team. Last week he had a game Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. The freshman team is great! The talent on this team is fenomenal not to mention the heart and team spirit. The JV team..... well not so much. Those poor guys have won 3 or 4 games the entire season and this is a season that consist of 30+ games. We are in our final weeks of basketball and then Baseball starts. The last basketball game is February 9th and the first baseball game is February 12th. Needless to say by this point I'm just about ready for a sports break. Of course this will not happen becasue as I said baseball is just around the corner and typically this doesn't end until sometime in July. Not because of the high school but because Blake is in select baseball. I love watching Blake play sports but enough already! :-) This mom needs a break from all this maleness. Oh well I guess the only thing to do is get over it because I only have him at home for a few more years. (picture me in a fetal position crying rocking my self back and forth)

Right now Blake is at the age where he is pulling away. I have been told I'm not allowed more than 4 kisses in one 24 hour period. I got that many through negotiations. I tried to get an extra one the other night and we ended up in a fight. I guess I should thank my lucky stars that I get any love at all at this stage of his life. Honestly, I could not have asked God to bless my husband and I will a better son. He is smart, athletic, kind, loving and above all he loves Jesus! The negative is he has a smart mouth. Lets just say the apple didn't fall far from the tree on that one. LOL. Let me tell you some of the comments I've said that are now biting me in the butt. haha For instants.

mom: what do you want for dinner
Blake: food
mom: no really what are you hungry for
Blake: food

I can go on but you get the picture. I will say meal time is a struggel for our family. I don't mind cooking but I want to know what the guys are hungry for before I'm going to spend time cooking. In the early years I cooked a number of meals to end up being told. "I'm not really hungry right now". or "I'm not in the mood for that tonight. I'll fix something else". Needless to say a cooked meal at my house is a rearety unless I'm told what they would like to for supper. Thank God for fast food or resturants that are close by. Otherwise we would go hungry.

Well I guess I've rameling so I will close for now. I hope you have a safe warm night.
