Oh the things Michael says. Part 1

My wonderful husband talks in his sleep. For instance Monday night I woke up and notice he had the sheet up around his shoulders and seemed like he was freezing. I looked and the cover was at the foot of the bed ready to fall on the floor. I get up and pull the covers up and cover him up. After I cover him he stirs and says "Oh, thank you babe, now I can run faster." I started laughing and then he really woke up so I told him and he he laughed.

Another time Michael was asleep and all of a sudden he kicked us leg up into to the covers. I didn't know what in the heck was going on.  When he woke up and I told him what he did his reply was "I do my own stunts."

This past weekend was the Mega Million drawing. Several of the people at Michael's office got together and bought tickets.  Today one of the girls in the office noticed Michael had a band aid about three inches from his elbow and asked what happened to his arm. Michael replied "when I found out about losing the Mega Million drawing I went to slip my wrist and missed.".

One time when Michael and I went out on a date the little waitress came up and asked us what we would like to drink and then started naming various adult beverages.  Michael looked at her and said "I'm sorry, she is an alcoholic and isn't allowed to have anything like that to drink." The poor girl didn't know where to put herself. At the end of dinner he asked for a quarter to call his wife because he needed to let her know he would be getting home late. He is a nut.

I can go on and on but will stop f.or now. I hope you have a wonderful Thursday.

Michael went to the ER but is OK

This weekend was not the best we have ever had.  My neck and back were so jacked up that I slept the majority of the weekend.  I did get the two larger frames filled with pictures and have stared on the middle frame and that was about it for Saturday.

Michael has recently started working out again.  He picked up some Hydroxycut cut and started taking it Saturday.  He has been smart on the exercise part and he is just walking at this point. But on Sunday around 3 or 4 his upper belly and chest started bothering him.  He couldn't get comfortable and if you know Michael he has a high tolerance for pain. So he finally decided I can take him to the ER. I don't know if it was just a slow day or what or it was because we got there just before a shift change but, everyone was Johnny on the spot. Michael had 3 departments fighting for him. After they ruled out a heart attack they sent him to get a sonogram.  When he got back from the Sonogram they drew blood and gave him this medicine to drink that would help numb his tummy.   After he got that done they called the CT guy and they did CT on his abdomen.  Everything came out with flying colors.  The only problem is he as still in a lot of pain. While we were waiting for the release papers they gave him a shot of morphine to help him until we could get the Rx's filled.  Michael is supposed to go see a Gastro person.  The ER Dr. thinks it has something to do with his reflux.

This is how worried he gets about me.  I'm sitting in the chair beside his bed in the ER and of course those chairs are not the most comfortable chairs in the world so I get up to move around a bit and take some pain meds and he tells me I can go on home.  That he will either call me when they are ready to release him or he will take a taxi. Then he was picking on the nurse.  Telling her that he was her number one patient.  that the rest didn't matter.  She told him you are right.  I only have two patients.  I pop in and say of course he is your favorite.  All the work is done and you get to just check on him now and then. She laughed and said yes.  She likes it like that.  There had just been a shift change.  When Michael was about to be released she was giving me all of the instructions because he was on pain meds and she made a comment that obviously I would be driving because Michael wasn't in a state to be doing so.  Of course my husband has to say oh she got her licence revoked. And other stuff I don't even remember.  He had me cracking up.  He is a nut even when he isn't feeling well.

Michael was still feeling really bad this morning and tried to get up and get ready for work but almost feel because he fell asleep.  So he called in to let them know he would not be in today.  Poor guy.  He isn't sick very often but when he is it really hits him hard.

So if you guys would send your thougths and prayers toward Michael I would really appreciated it.  I don't know what I would do with out him.

Thank you.  Hope all of you have a great Monday.

Happy Birthday Michael!

Dear Michael,

I just wanted to tell you how much I love you and tell you how thankful I am that you have allowed me to be apart of your life for the last 25 years.

It is crazy to stop and think about the 17 year old you when we met. To the 43 year old you that you will be tomorrow. It has been one heck of a ride and I wouldn't want to change one thing about it.  It is what has made us who we are today.

I've been blessed beyond measure with not only marrying my best friend but having a husband that loves me in return. Someone I know I can always depend on to be there for me in the good times and the bad. Not only are you a wonderful husband You are a wonderful dad. I have enjoyed watching you develop into this incredible father.  Blake is one lucky young man to have had such a fantastic dad such as you growing up.

You are:

Magnificent
Incredible
Caring
Honest
Awesome
Exciting
Loving

You are so many more things but above all you are loved more know then you could possibly know.  I'm looking forward to seeing the changes in you over the next 25+ years. Because if they are as good as the first 25 then I know I will have the time of my life.

Happy Birthday Baby, I love you with all of my heart.

The story of us Part 2

I was 18 years old when we got married.  Two weeks later I turned 19. Young dumb and in love.  Those first years of marriage were no walk in the park.  We no sooner got married went on our honey moon weekend and the next week we moved away from all of our friends and family.  Neither of us had a job. I have no idea what we expected to live on. The only thing we knew was Michael was going to move to Dallas to go to school and neither of us wanted to be that far apart from one another. Michael asked me to marry him on December 9, 1989.  We got our marriage licence on January 9, 1990 and were married by January 20, 1990. Twenty one years of marriage.  By today's standards that is a long time.

When we moved to Dallas I found a job working for Kirby trying to sale vacuum cleaners.  I hated it.  I'm not a sales person in the least.  I couldn't justify selling a vacuum that cost $1,200.00.  I'm way to practical minded for that.  No matter how good the product.  One weekend they sent all of the new sales people off to make 10 presentations to either friends or family.  The only problem was all of our family and friends were three hours away.  On our drive back from Belton our Ford Taurus broke down on the side of the road.  We had to literally walk 5 miles back to a small Texas town call West. We got the car running the next day. I ended up quiting that awful job.  I was working 7 AM until 11 PM and not getting anything out of it.

My cousin got me an interview for a bank that was called First Gibraltars.  Since I had what I thought was such a fantastic paying job I told Michael I wanted him to concentrate on school and when he finished he could get a job as well.  After all he had paid for everything for the last four years and his schooling was only going to be a year. We were scraping by.  It was so bad at times we had noddles with ground turkey meat.  If we were lucky we would get to add cheese to the mix.  Try working when you only have one car.  We would have to get up supper early so Micahel could drive me to my cousins house. One of us would drive her car in to down town Dallas.  So I would drive from Buckner blvd. in Dallas to Roulette back to Dallas and then do the same thing in reverse every evening.  When the Taurus finally gave out we had to buy a new car. It was a Hyundai Excel. It cost us $5,000.00 it was brand new and we thought we were on top of the world.  Let me also note this car didn't have a radio or air conditioning in it. Yep, young and dumb.

On our first anniversary I made spaghetti and we danced to Frank Sinatra.  We ended up giving each other the same exact anniversary card.  I didn't get him anything else.  he surprised me with pearl ear rings with gold around them. I wore them every day until the pearl broke off.  That was a sad day.

Michael graduated mortuary school and got a job working every other night going in at 5 PM and getting off work at 8 AM and working every other weekend.  He would go in on Friday night at 5 PM and work until 8 AM on Monday. We were in heaven.  One problem.  We only had one car.  So we rushed out when we found out he had a job and got a  second car. It was a brand new Chevy Cavalier. It actually had air conditioning and a radio.  We were moving up in the world.

To be continued.
